The Oregon
Pipers Society is pleased to host a piping and drumming workshop on February 15, 2014. We have two
outstanding instructors and look forward to an informative and enjoyable
workshop! Jack Lee and Blair Brown will also be performing at OPS in the
evening.
Jack Lee – Piping Instructor
For 30
years, Jack has been regarded as one of the world’s leading pipers. His
accomplishments as a solo piper, pipe band leader and teacher cause him to be
in great demand as a performer and teacher throughout the world.

Jack is
ranked among the world's most accomplished pipers, having won the Gold Medal, Clasp
(twice), and Silver Star (four times) at Inverness. As well as the Gold Medal and
Senior Piobaireachd at Oban. Jack as also won the Bratach Gorm (twice) in
London, and the Piobaireachd event at the Glenfiddich Championship in Scotland
(four times). Jack has been the winner of the B.C. Pipers’ Association Annual
Gathering 17 times.
As a teacher
Jack dedicates many hours per week to private instruction at home and online
around the world. Several of Jack’s students have gone on to win major solo

Blair Brown – Drumming Instructor

Blair
previously drummed with the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band in Canada, as
well as Peel Regional Police, 78th Fraser Highlanders, Milton Optimists, and
Macdonald Caledonia. Blair is the drumming director at the St. Thomas Episcopal
School in Houston, Texas, and returned to Shotts in 2013, having previously
played with the band from 2002-2007.
Blair is
currently residing in Portland as his wife is attending OHSU. He is accepting
students at this time.
