November Local Hero

Our Local Hero for November OPS is Patrick Case of Portland, Oregon.

Pat Case started piping at the age of 10 under Dave Beerman, former P/M of the Clan MacLeay Pipe Band, then taking from Jeff and Robbie Brewer after joining the Sir James McDonald Pipe Band. He was Pipe Major of the band from 2001 - 2004, winning fifth place in the 2003 World Pipe Band Championships Juvenile category.

Pat is a founding member of the Portland Metro Pipe Band and continues to play with them as Pipe Sergeant. He teaches piping for members of the Portland Metro Youth Pipe Band. He is a current Grade I solo competitive piper with goals to become professional in the next few years. In his spare time, Pat races bicycles and likes to spend time with his wife Felicity and their dog.

Held at the OddFellows Hall in Milwaukie, the OPS competition begins at 4:30 pm and evening performance begins at 7:30 pm. Admission is $5 for OPS members. $10 for non-members.
